Syntax
Category Tape
Type Verb
Description writes an "end of file" mark at the current position on the attached magnetic media. It also causes a flush of the last buffer written. This is important to ensure any partially filled buffer was written onto the tape.

Writing two eof marks in a row creates an end-of-data (eod) mark.
